So, last night I ate two giant spoonfuls of peanut butter before bed (damn you, Skippy, you're like crack on a spoon, but you make me fat), because apparently I had no impulse control, but was still at 800 calories for the day. Not ideal, but I didn't mess up too badly, so I tried not to beat myself up too much about it. I was expecting to see a jump in the scale, and I was up half a pound this morning--119.6. Still under 120, though, yay!

I was planning on fasting today, but my mom was home around lunchtime, and was all "haven't you eaten yet? You look pale, what's going on?" UGHH.  So I made these mini-fritatta-in-a-muffin-tin things with her (mushrooms, spinach, bell peppers, and a bit of cheese in scrambled egg) and had two of them. I have class tonight, so I can get out of dinner, which means about 250 cals for the day, which is fine, because I'm actually not hungry at all.

I'm wearing my pink skinny corduroys today (I liker pink and I love corduroy and they were ten dollars, okay, don't be judging me) and they're definitely looser than the last time I wore them, which was a month and a half ago. Last time the waistband was a little tight when I sat down, but now they're totally comfortable. (they're size 4 from American Eagle) .

Tea and Sympathy, or, Singing the Praises of Green Tea!

Don't worry, I won't actually sing; I think that there's a rule against that in the Geneva Conventions. But! Green tea: it's delicious, and it's good for you. I love hot tea, because it warms me up and fills me up. It's like a hug from the inside.

But now that it's getting to be summer here in New England, with the heat and humidity, I've been brewing it up and then letting it cool off until I can have a whole pitcher over ice. (or, if I'm impatient, I just make it double-strength and pour it over ice.) It's good plain, but I'll add stevia for sweetness if I'm in the mood.

No calories--it's like water with the superpowers of tastiness and nutrients!

Other than tastiness, green tea has been shown to boost fat mobilization and weight loss.  Plus, it's packed with antioxidants and has been shown to protect against cancer and arthritis, boost cardiovascular health (because your heart needs love, too, ladies!) and give a boost to your immune system.

What more could you ask for? Well, it has caffeine, for a little boost of energy--I say "a little" because it has only 40 milligrams, as opposed to the 200 milligrams in coffee. It's also been shown to help with relaxation, because it's full of L-theanine, which binds to receptors in the brain and induces brain waves associated with relaxation.

Sure, you can buy green tea in little capsules and swallow it down, but 1. that's for lazy people, and 2. real tea helps boost your fluid intake, because your body hates dehydration 3. tea is delicious. seriously.

I've seriously wanted to try matcha green tea for ages, which is powdered, concentrated green tea leaves. Supposedly it's super tasty and super healthy, but I haven't been able to bring myself to shell out the money for it ($15 for 9 ounces, eww) Has anybody tried it? Any glowing reviews that will make me open up my wallet and peel out my precious cash?

The theme for this post is legs.
A picture is worth a thousand words, or at least that's what they say.
So this post ought to be worth seven thousand (th)inspiring, at least.
